If you have a vehicle which is over 3 years old, it is your responsibility to ensure it has passed its MOT test - a compulsory test which ensures your car is roadworthy. The certificate is valid for a year and should be renewed annually before it expires. It is not just for your safety but also for the safety of all other road users and is one of the best, most important methods of car maintenance.
An MOT test consists of carefully checking every component of your vehicle, including testing your brakes, lights, doors, fuel system and emission levels. Additionally, the safety features in your vehicle are checked including your seats and seatbelts, horn and steering controls.
The DVSA set charge for an MOT test on a car is £54.85. Links Road Garage charges £40.00 and if your vehicle fails the test, we do not charge for a retest if it is retested within 10 days of the date on the Refusal Certificate.
If you fail your MOT, you will need to get any faults or damages repaired before undertaking a re-test. Regular servicing of your vehicle is very important in keeping your vehicle safe and roadworthy, and helps to ensure that any minor defects seldom develop into anything more costly to rectify.
Links Road Garage has put together a package of MOT & Servicing options to suit all pockets.
